Stems is 100% owned and operated by me, Stephanie Groom. I have an Integrated Design BFA from Iowa State University and over 23 years of experience designing and creating bouquets, basket and container arrangements, corsages, boutonnieres, and floral arrangements for all occasions. We were awarded runner up for best local florist in 2019 after one year in business, and in 2020 took another runner up placement for our floral designs. In 2023 we were awarded Business Entrepreneur of the Year from the Altoona Chamber of Business. We look forward to many more! I moved to Iowa from Leeds, England in 2003. In England I apprenticed with a flower shop in Leeds for over five years and after moving to Iowa had worked with local florists. Ever since, it has been a dream to open my own flower shop, enter Stems! I live in Altoona with my husband and two daughters. We love the area and I couldn't be happier to set up shop in Altoona!

What happens if the recipient isn’t home?
If the recipient isn’t available, our driver will either leave the flowers in a safe spot or, if needed, arrange a re-delivery at a later time.

How do I make my flowers last longer?
Trim the stems, place them in fresh water, and keep the arrangement in a cool spot away from direct sunlight to extend their life.
